Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp avocado or olive oil
- 1-3 lbs. ground turkey or beef

- 4 Cups chicken or beef broth
- 14 oz. can of diced roasted tomatoes
- 3/4 Cup heavy cream
- TACO SEASONING
- 1-1/2 Tbsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- OPTIONAL TOPPINGS
- Avocado, jalapeno, cheese, cilantro, sour cream
Instructions
- Add all taco seasoning in a bowl, mix well and set aside.
- In a Dutch oven or stock pot, over medium heat, add oil and saute onions for a few minutes until translucent. Then add meat, salt, pepper and cumin to taste. Cook till browned, stirring constantly. NOTE: This can be placed in a slow cooker or instapot.
- Add broth, tomatoes, taco seasoning and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and add cream.
- Serve garnished with avocado, jalapeno, cilantro or sour cream.
