This tasty taco soup for the low carber has just the right amount of spice. You can choose to use 1 to 3 lbs of meat depending on how chunky you desire your soup. This taco seasoning can be jarred and used for other recipes that call for taco seasoning. A much cleaner version than those pre packaged seasonings with added sugar, MSG, sodium and other ingredients that are no bueno.
Add all taco seasoning in a bowl, mix well and set aside.
In a Dutch oven or stock pot, over medium heat, add oil and saute onions for a few minutes until translucent. Then add meat, salt, pepper and cumin to taste. Cook till browned, stirring constantly. NOTE: This can be placed in a slow cooker or instapot.
Add broth, tomatoes, taco seasoning and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and add cream.
Serve garnished with avocado, jalapeno, cilantro or sour cream.
